Summary

KNOWS eyewear is a startup that's partnered with Auburn University's School of Industrial Design to get students to help design new ideas for their line of sunglasses. We also helped redesign the packaging to create a more cohesive brand from the glasses to the packaging experience.

In this project, I participated in the team work of preliminary research, data collection, and packaging design, as well as independent design, model making, and rendering.
Who is Knows?
Knows is a start-up eyewear company whose goal is to provide the best fit of any brand while marketing to young adults in the tech industry.

Their glasses frame features two unique adjustment points for aiding with a perfect fit. These are exchangeable nose pads and bendable temple tips.

Rather than use this technically improper but shared terminology, as glasses brands Ombraz has, Knows has an opportunity to revise shared language and connect customers to the product while highlighting the engineering advantages of the glasses.
Knows’ target market is likely to see this as an opportunity to become technically in the know and feel empowered by knowing the proper terms for these features.
How can we better communicate the fit adjustment experience to consumers so they can maximize their satisfaction with using the product?
-
We give them comparisons between the new product/experience and a familiar product/experience
What is the most ideal way to deliver these messages?
-
Videos are too long, and images don’t provide enough information, but GIFs provide sufficient information in a short period of time.
